Customised In-house Program to Amplify Your Team’s Strengths

To amplify your team’s strengths we must first create awareness of individual and team strengths. We will:

identify the hidden talent and untapped potential of both your people and your team.

We’ll help individuals and the team to build on existing talents and strengths, develop their potential and apply it at work.

Then, we ensure the team can review their progress and continue to grow and develop.

When I say “we” I mean you and me. We become a synergetic, strategic partnership. I’ll provide the mentoring, coaching, training and strengths-based development; you’ll provide the knowledge of your business, people-management and on-the-job leadership to achieve positive outcomes.

Who is this for?

I love working with business owners, managers and team leaders who want to lead a high-performing team. Frequently, my clients have a “Good to Great” mentality – they have a good team and a good business where they constantly strive for the next level of excellence. They know that customer/patient expectations change and that ongoing employee development is critical.

You may be a:

  • Business owner or managing partner
  • Principle or practice manger of a law firm, accountants or professional service
  • Leading a team in medical or allied health practice
  • Manager or team leader in a large organisation

You can work with me one-to-one, in a workshop with other business owners, managers or team leaders, or as part of a customised, in-house development program.

Team’s Strengths Grid

Ann organised to have the Strengths Finder instrument administered to our entire team, and then used the collated results to prepare two half day workshops. Whatever I had expected from the workshop was greatly exceeded— while there were many moments of “that is so you”, we also discovered talents and strengths in our team that we didn’t anticipate. The process bonded our team together, and gave the variously talented individuals a greater appreciation for the strengths and talents of others in the team, and gave each one the tools and the interest to begin to develop them. I will work with you and your team over 12 months in a program that will be customised to meet your needs.

1. Briefing Meeting

We begin with a briefing meeting. I’ll send you a list of questions in preparation for our discussion and I’ll get you to complete your StrengthsFinder 2.0, so we can take your strengths into account as we plan.

If you have documentation such as mission statements and role descriptions, I’ll ask you share them with me and I’ll need some background about your team and goals.

2. Team Briefing

After we’ve mapped out the details of your program, I’ll prepare information about our work for you to share with your staff. I’ll help you align it with the mission, values and goals of your organisation. You will talk to your team about what you want to achieve, why it’s important and how it will benefit them, your customers/patients and the business.

3. StrengthsFinder 2.0

The StrengthsFinder 2.0 is an online assessment that takes about 40 minutes to complete. You will get best results if you allocate staff the time to do it, with access to a computer or tablet, at work. This conveys the value you place on their development and contribution to the team. They can immediately download and print their reports and personalised action plan.

4. Workshop: Name, Claim and Aim Your Strengths

This half-day workshop:

  • Introduces the concept of talents and strengths
  • Explores each individual’s top 5 Talent Themes
  • Discusses what to do about weaknesses, and
  • Helps people begin their personal strengths development plan

5. Review and Plan

Here you’ll receive the team profile showing where the team’s strengths and development opportunities lie. You will identify 1-4 mission-critical outcomes you want the team to achieve over the next 12 months. We will set these up as 90-day projects that everyone will be involved in.

6. Workshop: Amplify Team Strengths

This half-day workshop

  • Assesses team strengths
  • Discusses team outcomes and strengths alignment
  • Begins to develop a team action plan for strengths implementation aimed at the outcomes you’ve selected

7. Review Meetings

I will touch based with you monthly and we’ll bring the whole team together every 90 days to review progress and plan next steps.

People who know how to apply their own strengths, as well as recognise and use the different strengths of others, are more effective as individuals, more satisfied at work and contribute to better team outcomes.

Gallup’s studies have found that people who have the opportunity to focus on their strengths every day are:

  • 12.5% more productive
  • 6 times more likely to be engaged at work.
  • More than 3 times as likely to report having an excellent quality of life in general
